To protect your privacy we give you a passcode that is different from your eBay password to access your auctions through the My eBay gadget. Because Google gadgets don't encode the passcode, it's possible for other people using your iGoogle homepage to discover the passcode. This passcode is only useful to someone who also knows your eBay username and it can only be used to see your auction data through the gadget. The passcode cannot be used to log in to your eBay account or to place bids on your behalf.
When you sign up for the My eBay gadget, we also create an RSS feed with all your auction data. In order to hide the username associated with this auction information, the file format of the RSS feed uses your unique passcode and not your username.
